This Isn’t Just a Market Shift—It’s a Leadership Test

May 2025

Good news is we’re seeing a rise in housing inventory and even price adjustments in some markets. But here’s the kicker: demand isn’t following the typical script. Traditionally, more supply and lower prices would bring buyers off the sidelines. Not Today!

Why? The answer lies in affordability and confidence.

What stands out to me in this moment is not just the data itself, but how the industry responds to it. If we’re waiting for rates to drop or external forces to "normalize" things, we’re missing the point.

This is a time for leadership that embraces disruption and sees opportunity in the uncertainty.

The organizations that will win in this atmosphere are the ones willing to:

• Reimagine how they engage consumers.
• Adaptive pricing strategies based on local market realities, not national narratives.
• Tech and data tools to identify pockets of demand and engage consumers more meaningfully.
• And perhaps most importantly, rethinking what homeownership means for the next generation

The market is changing. Are we ready to lead through it—or just react to it?

AI Is Reshaping Real Estate—Here’s How

March 2025

Like many industries, real estate is rapidly integrating AI across multiple functions. As the former CEO of the 16th largest MLS in the country, I witnessed firsthand how AI is being used in technical areas—from writing code and managing public relations to drafting property descriptions and marketing materials.

While AI can streamline and enhance these processes, particularly in generating property descriptions, it’s critical that human oversight remains in place—especially when it comes to ensuring compliance with fair housing laws. Accuracy, inclusivity, and sensitivity cannot be left solely to algorithms.

In my current role as a Business Advisor, Consultant, and Thought Leader, AI has become an indispensable part of my toolkit. I use it for research, strategic planning, and identifying growth opportunities. Like many, I continue to reflect on the broader question: How will AI impact the job market?

The reality is, AI will eliminate some roles—but it will also create opportunities we can't yet imagine. As we navigate this change, adaptability is key. I’m reminded of a quote:

“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to reach my destination.” – Author Unknown

And perhaps even more fitting is this insight from Warren Bennis:

“Leaders must encourage their organizations to dance to forms of music yet to be heard.”

Embracing innovation while remaining grounded in ethics and leadership—that’s how we move forward.
